The Best of Chicago’s Creators
Jack Drexler, CEO, Co-founder
Jack has over 35 years experience in restaurant management and development. After graduating from Lane Technical High School, Jack went on to attend the University of Illinois for Civil Engineering. After college he went into business with his dad and 1964, opened his own restaurant, "FLUKY’S," located on North Western Avenue in Chicago. Fluky’s was originally started in 1929 by his father, Abe Fluky Drexler. Jack is President of Fluky’s Franchise Systems International, Inc. And operates Fluky’s a fast food (Chicago Style Hot Dogs) chain of restaurants located in the Chicagoland area. The Fluky’s chain has been a Silver Platter Award Winner and received Honorable mentions every year since the inception of the award in 1988.
The Fluky’s restaurants were also the first restaurant group in Chicago to be presented with The Lester Food Service Award in 1993, by the "Keep America Beautiful-Operation Clean Streak," for its Recycling programs. Fluky’s is a member of Mayor Daley’s School Partners Program. In addition, Fluky’s has worked closely for many years with both the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation and the March of Dimes. An active member of the Illinois Restaurant Association since 1984, Jack was Chairman and President in 1996. He is also a member of the Chicago Board of Trade since 1972, and was an active Floor Trader for nine years. He was a member of the Board of Trustees of the Latino Institute, a group which advocates Education, Housing, Health and Self Reliance within the rapidly growing Hispanic community.
Lastly, Jack became a Mason in 1968, and in 1972 went on to become a Shriner, an organization that operates Orthopedic and Burn Hospitals throughout the United States which are free for the benefit of children who are in need of their services. As Chief Executive Officer for The Best of Chicago, Jack oversees all development and directs the flow of merchandise from start to finish.
Dana Drexler Zeid, COO, Co-founder
With 5 years experience in point-of-sale merchandising, Dana creates shopping experiences that inspire consumers. As Senior Vice President at Fluky's Franchise Systems International, Inc. (A Chicago Style Hot Dog Restaurant Chain), Dana developed and managed merchandising programs for the restaurants, including the development of a Fluky's Brand and introduction of that brand into the retail market. Currently she is a major contributor in the development of both the Fluky's and The Best of Chicago web sites. As Chief Operating Officer for The Best of Chicago, Dana oversees all creative development and directs the merchandising of the online store. Dana has a Bachelors degree in History, with an American Legal Concentration from De Paul University where she graduated with high honors.
